Cloaks are our signature garment. Made from only the finest quality fabrics, our cloaks will last for many years, whether you are looking for a wedding cloak for your special day, a stylish final layer to your period outfit, something to keep you warm round a campfire at night or even as everyday wear. We make the cloaks, you decide the occasion.

Here are examples of cloaks in particular historical styles and functions. All of these cloaks are made to measure specifically for each customer – small numbers may be held in stock on occasion if you are in a hurry, or if you have a design for a cloak you would like made for you, contact us with the details.

Included in the price are most linings and your choice of fastening. Choose from braided frog fastening, matching fabric tie, tassled rope, or metal clasp (see Clasps page to select your clasp). Alternatively you may have your own clasp added free of charge.

“Scottish Widows” Cloak

"Scottish-Widows"-style Cloak

Probably our most popular cloak style. Created for, and made very famous by, the television advert, this long 18th century opera cape is very full with a deep hood and a sumptuous satin lining. Made usually in black this cloak is available with a lining in a wide choice of colours.

Wedding Cloak

Full length hooded cloaks in rich cotton velvet with silky satin lining. Heavy and warm, these capes are the perfect accessory for winter weddings.

Choose from the following colours: royal or navy blue, red, burgundy, bottle green, black or chocolate brown (more colours may be available, please contact us).

Hood can be replaced by faux fur collar and trim, this may also be made with a train. Bridesmaids and children’s long cloaks and short capes also available.

Also available for summer weddings are organza cloaks, lightweight and floaty and an unusual replacement for the traditional veil. Organza cloaks available in many colours including white, ivory, gold, silver, burgundy.

Full Circle Cloak

Luxuriously extravagant! This 100% wool full circle cloak is decadently sized with a fitted lining making it heavy and warm. Authentic for re-enactment with linen or silk lining. Semi-circle cloaks also available.

Separate or joined hoods available.

Coachman's Cloak

Collared cloak with one or two short capes. Fully lined and beautifully warm, this cloak is available in wool or velvet.

Hood available instead of collar at small extra cost.

Cape

Think Phantom of the Opera, Jack the Ripper or even Dracula – this long, collared cape in black with sumptuous satin lining is a cloak used for dramatic effect, fastened with black tasselled rope. Lining available in many colours including red, black, royal blue, burgundy, or purple.

Fully lined waist or thigh-length cape also offered – with or without collar or with hood. Available in cotton, velvet or wool.
